About GutPlate
GutPlate is an independent recipe site focused on gut-friendly cooking. Every recipe on this site is developed, tested, and photographed in-house. Articles about gut health are written against peer-reviewed sources and linked so you can follow the evidence yourself.
Who writes this site
The site is run by the GutPlate Editorial Team โ a small group of food writers and home cooks who collaborate with registered dietitians on nutrition-heavy pieces. We are not clinicians, and we do not pretend to be. Our role is to translate current microbiome research into approachable everyday cooking.
Editorial standards
- We test every recipe. Recipes are cooked a minimum of twice and photographed by the author, not stock images.
- We cite health claims. Any nutrition-related claim links to a peer-reviewed source or a recognized health body (ISAPP, NIH, NHS, academic journals).
- We flag limitations. Where the evidence is emerging or mixed, we say so.
- We update articles. Older guides are revisited when new consensus or studies shift the picture.
What we mean by "gut-friendly"
We use the phrase broadly. A recipe might be gut-friendly because it is rich in prebiotic fiber, contains live fermented foods, is low-FODMAP for sensitive guts, or supports the intestinal lining (e.g. bone broths). We label each recipe with the specific benefit it offers so you can choose what fits your current needs.
How we fund this site
To keep the site free, we run display ads via Google AdSense and occasionally include affiliate links to tools or
ingredients we genuinely use. Affiliate links are always marked with rel="sponsored nofollow" and
disclosed per the FTC's guidelines โ you can read our full
affiliate disclosure for details. Sponsored content is labeled clearly and does
not influence our editorial decisions.
