Privacy policy

This policy explains what information GutPlate (https://gutplate.com) collects, why, and how you can control it. We try to collect as little as possible.
1. What we collect
Analytics (no cookies)
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not use fingerprinting. Cloudflare collects aggregated page-view counts, approximate country (from IP, which is not stored), and basic device type. IP addresses are not stored in any retrievable form.
Advertising (cookies, only with consent)
We display ads via Google AdSense. If you accept cookies in our consent banner, AdSense may use cookies to show ads that are more relevant to you, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. If you reject, we do not load AdSense at all and no AdSense cookies are set.
Newsletter (optional, opt-in)
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address with our newsletter provider (e.g. Mailchimp, Buttondown) solely for the purpose of delivering the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email, or by emailing hello@gutplate.com.
Recipe preferences (stored on your device)
The interactive recipe card uses localStorage in your browser to remember your serving scale and which ingredients/steps you have ticked off. That data stays on your device and is never sent to us.

3. Third parties

- Pinterest — only loaded if you click a "Save" button; their share page has its own policy. Privacy policy

4. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Because we store very little data (essentially just newsletter emails when you subscribe), most requests are fulfilled by unsubscribing. For any other request, email hello@gutplate.com.
5. Children's privacy
GutPlate is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
6. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Substantive changes will also be announced in the next newsletter.
